EPL: Leicester City eye Graham Potter for managerial role

Leicester City is reportedly in the process of considering appointing Graham Potter as their new manager following the departure of Enzo Maresca to Chelsea.

Graham Potter, who has been unemployed since his dismissal by Chelsea in April 2023, is being actively pursued to take over from Maresca, who only spent one season with the Foxes.

According to reports from TalkSPORT, the club’s director Jon Rudkin is enthusiastic about securing Potter’s expertise and has already initiated discussions with his longstanding representative, John Morris.

Aged 49, Graham Potter has been associated with various prominent positions, including a potential role at Manchester United, where he could potentially reunite with incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth, his former associate at Brighton.

It is worth noting that Graham Potter declined an opportunity from the esteemed Dutch club, Ajax.

Nonetheless, Leicester’s re-entry into the Premier League subsequent to their Championship victory under Maresca offers an enticing prospect for Potter.

The club is understood to have engaged in initial talks with former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper as part of their quest.

Moreover, Leicester has confirmed the extension of a new one-year contract for their iconic figure Jamie Vardy.

Conversely, the club is bidding farewell to three senior players: Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Dennis Praet.
