BREAKING: Former CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi II reinstalled as Kano Emir

After the abolition of the four new Emirates in Kano State, the State government has decided to reinstate Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano.

This decision comes following the dethronement of Emir Bayero and four other Emirs of the dissolved controversial Emirates created in 2019 by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Although Sanusi’s return to the throne has not been officially announced, it is reported by LEADERSHIP newspaper that the former CBN Governor is expected in Kano on Friday to begin his second reign as the Emir of the ancient city.

“So certainly with the passage of the Bill, Sanusi automatically stands reinstated. No need for confirmation, the thing to is wait for the Governor to assent to it.” the media outlet quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying.

Currently, Lamido Sanusi is in Ogun State on a private visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
