Peter Obi launches online portal, ID cards for Obidient Movement

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has introduced a new online registration platform and identity cards for members of his Obidient Movement in Nigeria and around the world.

The announcement was made on Saturday in a statement released by the movement’s National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure.

Each identity card will feature a QR code for verification and proudly showcase the flag of the holder’s country of residence. This decision aims to foster a spirit of inclusivity, unity, and solidarity within the movement.

The launch of the registration portal and identity cards symbolizes a significant milestone in enhancing the Obidient Movement’s structure and operations, both domestically and internationally.

The statement read in part: “Obidient registration portal supports Nigerians and fellow Obidients living in the diaspora. You will observe that the ID has a flag on it. For example, if you’re not resident in Nigeria, the top right-hand corner will carry the flag of your country of residence.”

It further explained that the ID cards will all start with the same prefix, “OBX,” regardless of where the holder is based. The QR code located at the bottom right-hand corner of each card will serve as a verification tool, allowing users to authenticate a member’s identity by scanning with a smartphone or QR scanner.

“So if you choose to support or do business with an Obidient, you can scan the QR code or verify the OBX ID online to confirm that the person is who and what they truly say they are,” the statement added.

The launch of the registration portal and identity cards marks a significant step in structuring and strengthening the Obidient Movement’s operations both at home and abroad.
