Kanye West has previously articulated contentious remarks regarding his mother, and this instance represents yet another personal issue that arguably could have remained undisclosed.
Kanye West is once again reflecting on his formative years and the socio-environmental context in which he was raised. He asserts that there were peculiar behaviors exhibited, particularly by his mother, Donda.
Earlier this week, Ye alleged that she was engaged in homosexual relations with his childhood caregiver. These purported actions are believed by the rap mogul to have contributed to his propensity for engaging in sexual relations with his professional associates.
“Wait. Do people still beat their kids. That seems illegal,” he said.
This revelation is undeniably a provocative disclosure, particularly concerning one’s own progenitor, notwithstanding the fact that she is no longer living.
Nevertheless, Twitter serves as a platform where Kanye West feels sufficiently at ease to articulate his thoughts candidly.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he is revealing additional intimate details regarding his parental figures.
According to Complex, the VULTURES artist recounted how his parents would “beat” him, albeit perhaps not in the severe manner that one might instinctively presume. His journey to this point has been characterized by a process of externalizing his thoughts, a practice he has consistently engaged in over the past several months.
That’s when he revealed how he was hit as a kid. “When I was growing up my parents beat me. You know Like when I deserved it. Not in abusive way,” Ye said. “I guess I’d be like mom I’m really upset I didn’t get the starter hat to go with the jacket you just bought me and then I got back handed out the blue. Just seems like that wouldn’t be woke.”
Kanye West kind of shocked himself with how different parenting is and how kids are nowadays. He added, “Wait. So kids today don’t gotta go “get the switch.” I mean It meant something different. We used to have to go out and find a tree branch and bring it back to our parents for our parents to beat our a*s,” he explained. “Brooo. This sh*t sound so crazy now.”
