Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola and wife separate after 30 years of marriage

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his spouse Cristina Serra have amicably separated after three decades together.

According to SPORT, the separation has been characterized as “cordial, stable, and friendly.”

Reports indicate that the couple drifted apart after spending significant time in different countries due to Guardiola’s professional commitments.

Guardiola and Serra, who first met in 1994, exchanged vows in 2014 during an intimate ceremony near Barcelona. They are the proud parents of three children: Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17.

While Guardiola has been primarily stationed in Manchester for his managerial duties, Serra has resided in Barcelona on a full-time basis. As a Brazilian journalist, Serra has frequently been seen accompanying the manager at various events throughout the years.

The decision to dissolve their marriage was reportedly reached in December, although it was initially kept confidential among their close associates. Friends and family were also instructed not to reveal further information regarding the separation.

Serra permanently moved to Barcelona in 2019 to oversee her family’s fashion enterprise, Serra Claret. Despite ongoing speculation concerning his future at Manchester City, Guardiola signed a contract extension in November, thereby committing to the club until 2027.

The couple’s separation signifies the conclusion of a long-standing relationship but is said to have been conducted with mutual respect and understanding.
