Popular Manchester City midfielder arrested over phone theft

Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has been reportedly apprehended on charges of mobile phone theft at a nightclub situated in Madrid.

The 26-year-old Portuguese international was purportedly detained during the early hours of September 8 at La Riviera, a well-known discotheque, and subsequently transported to a local police precinct for interrogation, as reported by Dailymail.

His apprehension transpired at approximately 5:30 a.m. following allegations that Nunes had unlawfully taken a mobile device from a 58-year-old gentleman who had endeavored to capture his image in the restroom of the nightclub without obtaining his prior consent, according to the Spanish publication El Mundo.

Having originated from Brazil, it is alleged that the Manchester City player seized the mobile device in a fit of anger and declined to return it.

El Mundo indicated that law enforcement officials reportedly detained him after being summoned to the location and discovered the mobile device in his possession.
