BREAKING: ‘Do not protest’ -Tinubu begs Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu has asked Nigerians to refrain from organizing planned protests against poor governance next month.

The appeal was conveyed by Information Minister Mohammed Idris following a meeting with the President.

“The issue of the planned protest, Mr President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan. He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas,” the minister said.

Tinubu encouraged the protest organizers to put their plans on hold and wait for the President to address their concerns.

The protests, which are gaining momentum on social media, were scheduled to take place nationwide starting from August 1.

The surge in food prices and economic hardships have contributed to the growing discontent among Nigerians.

The inflation and economic crisis are partially attributed to the government’s removal of petrol subsidies and forex window unification policies.
