Comrade Phillip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during a campaign rally in the state.
At the rally, Shaibu declared his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was welcomed back into the party by the APC’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa.
Shaibu also seized the opportunity to reunite with his political mentor, former Edo State Governor and APC National Chairman, Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
This move comes after a Federal High Court in Abuja invalidated Shaibu’s impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly on grounds of gross misconduct.
