Emir Sanusi II Takes His Throne Despite Court Order

BREAKING: Former CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi II reinstalled as Kano Emir

In a dramatic turn of events, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II has taken on the palace seat, receiving warm greetings from his subjects.

This move comes despite a joint security agency’s attempt to block his reinstatement, citing a court order.

Undeterred, the Emir emerged from the inner palace to the outer palace, where he was greeted by cheering crowds as he rode a horse in traditional fashion.

The state’s Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has defended the move. He said “The so-called court order banning them from reinstating Sanusi was not officially submitted to them, and as at the time they did the reinstatement, it was after working hours, which shows that anything coming from the court on that matter is already late”
