Organised Labour has decided to withdraw from the ongoing minimum wage negotiations with the Federal Government.
This decision was made in response to the offer of N48,000 and N54,000 wages from the FG and the Organized Private Sector, OPS, respectively, which they deemed as “ridiculous”.
It was noted that the FG did not provide any supporting data for their proposal, unlike Organised Labour, while OPS stated that none of its members pay less than N78,000.
Benson Upah, the spokesman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, confirmed the exit.
He said, “Yes we are out. We are about to address the press and you will get the details then”.
