Portable

Popular musician Portable, real name Habeeb Okikiola, was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday for failing to settle a debt he owed for a G-Wagon he purchased from a car dealer in the state.

Portable reportedly only paid N13m of the N27m total for the vehicle and refused to pay the remaining N14m. He allegedly claimed the vehicle was faulty whenever asked to pay the balance.

After the car dealer’s attempts to collect the debt were unsuccessful, they reported the matter to the police. The singer was then arrested by officers assigned to investigate the case.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Portable’s arrest when contacted.

He said, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”
