JUST IN: Popular ‘Titanic' actor dies at 79

The demise of Bernard Hill, a distinguished British actor renowned for his performances in ‘Titanic’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’, occurred at the age of 79, as confirmed by his representative, Lou Coulson.

Coulson further revealed that Hill passed away on a Sunday morning, with his fiancée Alison and son Gabriel by his side.

Hill ascended to prominence following his role in the 1982 BBC television production ‘Boys from the Blackstuff’.

His international acclaim grew significantly through his depictions of Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 Academy Award-winning film ‘Titanic’ and King Théoden in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
