Referee to wear head camera in Palace vs Manchester United

Officials have declared that referee Jarred Gillett is set to don a camera during the upcoming Premier League fixture featuring Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

The Premier League has emphasized that the camera feed will not be aired in real-time, but will instead be included in a program scheduled for later broadcast this year, with the objective of providing additional insights and knowledge on the challenges of officiating in the top tier of English football.

Gillett will utilize a head-mounted device as an integral component of the routine referee communication system utilized for significant matches.

The singular utilization of the camera has received endorsement from the regulatory body of the sport, the International Football Association Board (IFAB), in addition to the Premier League, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), and the respective clubs.

“We would like to thank Crystal Palace and Manchester United for their support with this project,” the Premier League said in a statement.
