Police arrest two Premier League players on suspicion of rape, assault

According to the UK Sun, two 19-year-old Premier League players from the same club were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of rape and assault.

One of the footballers was briefly interviewed at the club’s stadium for assault and aiding a rape before being formally arrested.

He spent the night in police custody and was then questioned under caution by detectives.

The other player was also arrested the following day and questioned for suspicion of rape.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers have arrested two men following a report of a rape.

“A 19 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a rape.

“A second 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

“Both men have since been released on police bail.”
