Tribunal verdict: Buhari reacts to Tinubu’s victory

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his approval of the decision made by the Presidential Elections Petition Court to confirm the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, in the February 25 election.

In a statement released by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari commended the PEPC for their impartiality and dedication to justice, despite facing intimidation and bias.

If anybody has won today, it is the democracy and the people,” adding “ with the verdict of the Supreme Court, the election period is over and it is time to put the heat and dust behind us. From here, the new APC administration led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should get the support of everyone in order to deliver the promises it made to the people.

Buhari also expressed gratitude to the citizens for maintaining peace during this period and wished for continued progress under the APC government.

He congratulated the President, Vice President, and the All Progressives Congress on their court victory and wished them success in fulfilling the people’s desires.
