EPL: Keep shouting at me, I love it – Haaland tells Guardiola

During the UEFA awards ceremony, Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, expressed his admiration for his manager, Pep Guardiola, and how he responds positively to the Spaniard’s shouts.

Haaland was awarded the 2022-2023 Premier League Players’ Player accolade earlier in the week.

He further cemented his outstanding season by winning the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award, surpassing the likes of Lionel Messi and Kevin De Bruyne.

Haaland talked about his remarkable achievements and attributed his success to the guidance and motivation provided by Guardiola.

The Norwegian striker played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s European treble last season, boasting an impressive record of 52 goals in 53 games.

Despite only being in the early stages of the current Premier League season, Haaland has already netted three goals in three games.

One notable moment caught on camera was when Guardiola berated Haaland during halftime in their match against Burnley, a moment that Haaland was questioned about during the UEFA awards ceremony.

“Sometimes Pep is a bit scary, I have to say,” he replied talkSPORT.

“But my father can also be a bit scary.

“But anyways this is something I like, I like it when Pep shouts at me…

“So I like it, I’m not complaining at all.”
