Mason Mount was successfully lured away from Chelsea this summer, according to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, despite fierce competition.
The Premier League rivals and the Red Devils signed an arrangement worth £60 million.
Mount made his United debut on Wednesday, triumphing over Leeds United in a preseason friendly.
After the game, Ten Hag talked about the competition they faced from other teams to sign the England midfielder.
“We worked so hard to get this done. I think so many clubs were looking out for Mason, to sign him, and we succeeded.
“We are happy with that, he brings something in the midfield department. He’s a great team player as well and he knows how to win,” Ten Hag told Viaplay.
