Kanu Nwankwo, a former captain of the Super Eagles, has been named the manager of Enyimba, winners of the Nigeria Premier League.
Felix Anyansi-Agwu will hand over control of the club to Kanu.
In a statement issued by Prince Okey Kanu, the Abia State Commissioner for Information and Culture, the former Arsenal forward’s appointment was officially announced.
He is anticipated to improve the group and help them win more awards.
Helping the Peoples’ Elephant successfully defend the championship they won last season is Kanu’s first priority.
The Aba giants will play in the CAF Champions League as well, where they hope to capture a third championship.
With nine NPL, two CAF Champions League, two CAF Super Cup, and four Federation Cup victories, Enyimba is the most successful club in Nigeria.
